Biography | Bill McCappin
VTCT Sports Massage Therapist
I am a qualified, experienced and passionate sports massage therapist based in Belfast, with over 25 years in the leisure business. I am also a qualified personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach and a St Johns Ambulance First Aider.
Having worked in different areas of leisure for 25 years+ I have been able to work with a wide range of sports people from many different disciplines. Common examples of sports people I treat range from Triathletes, Cyclists, Runners, Rugby players, Swimmers, Bodybuilders, Gym and Court enthusiasts . As a result of my diverse clinical experience, I have become proficient in many treatment modalities to effectively treat general musculoskeletal conditions.
As a sports person myself, I know the value of a good sports massage but more importantly I know what works. I have received a number of disappointing massages in the past so to this end I keep abreast of the developments in soft tissue work and l work independently which enables me to develop an understanding of the clients’ needs and to offer continuity of treatment. My goal is to give you the best treatment depending on your needs.
As a keen tennis player, cycling club member and gym user and having played a number of sports over the years has enabled me to understand the demands of physical exertion on the body and the importance of injury prevention.
Injuries can happen to anyone and are not just related to sports men and woman. With today’s fast moving pace and demands it is just as easy to develop muscle pain in areas of the body due to everyday stresses and strains, posture positions and general wear and tear. I would recommend having a regular sports massage as a major part of your injury prevention plan to help keep your body healthy and on the right track.
